Get Educated!: Tip-of-the-Day #73

A good friend of mine lives in Montana and was laid off from her job in November. She learned shortly thereafter about an interesting stimulus plan the state of Montana had put in place; a federally-funded re-education program! Ultimately, she could go back to school to learn a new trade or skill set and the government would pay for it!

This friend of mine had been wanting to go to culinary school for years but could never afford to. With a little research and leg work on her end (and some paperwork req'd by the state) she was approved to attend the culinary academy of her choosing, complete with room and board!

The fact that Montana was sponsoring this program was not widely advertised, but a little digging around will uncover some pretty neat opportunities. Other states have similar programs in place, along with grants (money you don't have to pay back), and interest-free loans!

Check out your state's education website, or do your own digging on Google.
