Garage Sales Mean Business: Tip-of-the-Day #46

HOST YOUR VERY OWN GARAGE SALE

Take unwanted furniture, bedding or tchotkes off parents and friends and sell them at your garage sale!

Remember the old adage “one man’s trash is another man’s treasure”? It’s true! You’d be surprised how many people are trolling for a good garage sale on any given weekend.

I’d even be so bold as to suggest going to the Salvation Army/Goodwill, buying second hand goods there for a steal, then reselling them yourself at a markup. If you're a savvy saleswoman then you know the power of presence. You can sell anything when you put your mind to it!

Guaranteed you’ll be the envy of all your dog-walking friends because you will be raking in the dough without leaving the comfort of your driveway.

Story: I just sold two armchairs that were never my style and I’d frankly considered giving away, for nearly $1000!

Suggestion: If you do end up with a bunch of stuff you can't even give away, donate it for the tax write-off. Don't just kick it to the curb.
