Trouble With Toner: Tip-of-the-Day #70

IF YOU DON'T KNOW WHAT THE PRODUCT DOES, SKIP IT.

The trouble I have with toner (and I'm not talking about the stuff you put in a copy machine) is that I have NO idea what it does. Do you? It's not cheap either. I've been buying toner at Kiehl's for years - vials of calendula, wild berries, and cucumber concoctions...and the irony is that I have no clue what the result is.

When I asked the sales person to explain the benefits of toner to me, I was told that toner helps to clarify my pores. What does that mean? That's like going to the dictionary to look up a word and having the definition be JUST as vague and obtuse as the word in question.

Interestingly, I ran out of toner several days ago and have been going without. I haven't noticed a bit of difference. Stop buying products that don't have recognizable benefits. You'll save a lot of money - and not just on the bottles of toner, but the cotton pads you have to buy to apply it with.
