I’m lucky enough to live in the Bay Area and so I have Napa, Calistoga, Lake Tahoe, Monterey and Santa Cruz at my immediate disposal.
By traveling locally you save an enormous amount of money on the air travel required to get to a foreign destination.
If you don’t happen to live somewhere with easy access to the ocean, mountains or vineyards, consider taking a road trip to a nearby state that does!
Another fun way to get away is to stay at a B & B in another town. You may not be far from home but if you pick the right Bed and Breakfast you’ll definitely feel taken care of!
