Kindle Alternative: Tip-of-the-Day #350

I just joined a book club at my place of work and realized that I had under a week to read the assigned novel. My first instinct is always to go to Amazon and download the book to my Kindle app so that I can read it on the go. Strangely, this book (The Power by Naomi Alderman) isn’t yet available on Kindle but is listed as $11.99 when it does become available, fyi.

I did a cursory search online and found an alternative that cost less than half of what Amazon will be charging when/if it does become available. Instant-reading.com is a simple site, and almost looked a bit phony to me, but I was willing to give it a try. The Power was available for digital download for only $4.99. I went ahead and bought it and it downloaded straight to my books app on my iPhone. Awesome sauce!

For kicks, I checked to see if the other book I had just purchased, Bad Blood, by John Carreyrou was available on instant reading, and it was! Also, only $4.99!

I’m not certain if instant reading will have everything you’re looking for because I couldn’t find The Subtle Art of Not Giving a Fuck, but it does seem to have those books that are not yet available on Amazon. Definitely worth a look!
