Beta Programs Mean Bucks: Tip-of-the-Day #77

SIGN UP FOR BETA PROGRAMS AND GET EARLY ACCESS TO GREAT DEALS!

I just got an email from eBay to participate in a brand new beta program they are calling eBay Bucks. In a nutshell, as a beta participant you just shop on eBay as you would any other time and use PayPal to check out. You get 2% off of qualifying items and eBay keeps track of your earnings. Every 3 months you are sent a certificate to spend your balance on eBay! It's really quite brilliant.

I signed up and within minutes had to buy a replacement battery for my Palm. The battery only cost me $6.99 but I got .17 credited to my "bucks" account and .70 back from PayPal as part of their Microsoft Cashback/Buy it Now incentive. It's amazing how you can piggyback deals to get really good savings! That's 12% I just saved for doing absolutely nothing outside of what I would have normally done!

Not every beta program is created equally obviously, but if it's a trusted source (like PayPal and eBay) you likely have little to lose and everything to gain.

Only hitch: you have to be invited to participate in this program so not everyone can jump on the bandwagon unfortunately. :(
